Can you believe it’s almost spring? Spring is arriving in less than 6 weeks! We had a very mild winter here, so for some it may seem like winter never arrived. No matter if you are wishing for snow these last few weeks of winter or for an early spring, one thing is for sure, it’s time to start planning your garden! We were hit with spring fever recently and started planning our projects for this year. We wanted to share them with you for inspiration. We promise to share the progress and pictures as we implement these projects.
In just three months, our new pollinator garden has gone from a new planting to a beautiful flowering pollinator food source! The Joe Pye Weed and Purple Coneflower that were given to us have become well established and are in full bloom. Additionally, the blanket flower we grew from seed is growing well and flowering. Even the Rue plant has more than tripled in size since it was planted. Check out the before and after pictures below to see the change in just 3 short months.
I don't know about you, but I am excited to see the first flowers of the year. Spring is finally arriving, even though this cold weather seems to keep trying to come back. But, as I take walks outside I see the signs of spring still fighting to shine.
Spring is just around the corner! Hopefully spring weather will arrive to stay soon! But, these occasional spring like weather days have our green thumbs throbbing to get planting. Luckily, it’s time to start seeds indoors to help calm that throbbing thumb.
