Make your own Seed Bombs!
It’s that time of year when spring fever is starting but it’s not yet time to plant the garden.
So, instead we made some seed bombs! This was our first time making seed bombs. The best part is we made them with four simple supplies we had on hand!
To make these seed bombs we used:
2 cups of flour
2/3 cup of water (plus a little more if the soil is very dry)
4 cups of soil
4 packets wildflower seed (we used Rohrer Seed Northeast Wildflower seed mix)
To make the seed bombs:
- Mix the flour, soil and water together until well mixed.
- Add the seeds and mix until the seeds are evenly distributed.
- Shape into balls with your hands.
Then we need to let them dry for a few days. We used cardboard egg cartons to store the seed bombs to dry.
This was a great activity for a toddler. He enjoyed mixing everything together. Plus, I know he will enjoy planting them in few months. These will make great Easter and mother day gifts.
Great idea!
